Back in the 1970’s our grandparents established a marquee business and worked extensively within the wedding industry to create unforgettable parties. Fast-forward 40 years and we’ve decided to expand on the family business and specialise in giant tipis. We came across our first tipi event in 2014 when we went to our cousin’s winter wedding. Our cousin had four Giant Hats which were uniquely dressed with Christmas trees, open fires, reindeer skins and Christmas foliage everywhere to create a life-long memory.
Despite being in the middle of the winter and the weather being far from favourable, the tipis provided a warm, inviting and very atmospheric venue away from the harsh December chill. We had never seen anything like this before and it was from that one event that the seed was sown.
Over the last few years we have been to lots of weddings and parties in all sorts of venues – from barns to marquees, from specially built function rooms to drab hotel conference rooms. Not once did we marvel at our surroundings. All the venues were the same, just four walls and a roof to keep the weather out. Then we experienced our first tipi event. From the moment we saw them we were hooked. This was not just a drab venue but the perfect setting for any event.
From that moment on we decided to form KåtaChiefs with the aim to provide our customers with ideal venue for their dream event.
We are based in Shropshire and provide tipi hire for Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and the rest of the West Midlands. However, distance isn’t a problem and we would be happy to bring our tipis to you, anywhere in the UK. We aim to provide all our customers with an ideal venue for their dream event.
