We work on one giant tipi providing room for an event of 0 – 70 guests. One giant tipi will provide space for tables and benches for thirty and a small 9ft x 9ft dance floor as in the diagram below.

For an event of 50 guests – 110 guests we recommend two giant tipis. This will provide space for seating with tables and benches for 90 guests on rectangular tables. It will also provide you with space for a dancefloor.

Two Tipis With Round Tables

If you are intending a more traditional set up, we can provide round tables and chairs. Round tables and chairs take up more room and we can sit a maximum of 70 guests. This works well for events with 70-day guests and a further 30 guests for the evening.

Three Giant Tipis & Chillout Package

Another alternative for you to consider is three tipis. Three tipis linked together are used for events of 70 – 150 guests. We can link three tipis together either in a triangular formation or in a liner formation. With three tipis you will be able to have one tipi with a dancefloor, a second tipi for sitting guests and the third tipi set up for a bar area or alternatively sit all 100 guests on round tables and chairs in the front two tipis, In the diagram below the third tipi is used with our chillout package.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the tipis come with lighting?
At your event you want to create the wow factor and nothing creates an amazing atmosphere than the twinkling of fairy lights on the wooden poles. All of our tipis come with fairy lights on the poles as our standard set of lighting. If you would like to increase the amount of light to your event we can always add spotlights to the tipi as well.
Are tipi weddings cold?
No! There is something special about a winter wedding or a Christmas party in a tipi. The warm natural atmosphere lends itself perfectly for winter events. Add a fire pit for atmosphere and keep the tipi warm by using indirect heaters blowing warm air inside the tipi.
How long do we have the tipis for?
For a weekend event we aim to install the tipis on the Wednesday and Thursday. This gives you the Friday to dress it, for you event on the weekend. We will then return on either the Monday or Tuesday to collect.
Can you get married in a tipi?
If your venue has a marriage license yes you can. A lot of people have the tipi at their wedding reception for the festivities.
When do you build the structures for my event?
When we build the structures depends on a couple of factors. A lot of venues request we set up the day prior to the event. If you have you own land or if the venue allows it we will set up a couple days prior to the event to allow you time to decorate it. However, the exact day does depend on the size of the structure and the logistics involved though we will endeavour to work to the best schedule to ourselves.
Can I have an open fire for my tipi event?
For inside the tipis we only permit bioethanol firepits that we provide. A bioethanol firepit creates the same atmosphere but without the smoke, therefore not staining the canvases and not filling the tipis with smoke. We do provide fire bowls and fire pits for outside use.
Can I have multiple events over my hire period?
During the hire period our structures are yours to use as often as you want. Often customers will have a wedding in the structure on the Saturday and then host a charity event on the Sunday. If this is something you are considering doing please let us know and we will work our build and takedown dates to suit.
What is a teepee wedding?
A teepee wedding is the same as a tipi wedding – it is just spelt differently. Katachiefs are a Wedding Tipi Hire company in the Staffordshire area, who hire a number of different size tipi’s for events catered to 20 to 280 people.
